Online tax preparation software and many tax professionals weren't giving their clients enough confidence that they were claiming all the deductions and credits they could. Just by asking my clients a few questions about their expenses and how their year went, I provided more confidence in their tax filings. Did we magically find major tax savings? Sometimes! 

When we didn't, I was often told that just asking about their situation gave them confidence in what we were filing each year. The problem was that my reach only extended to the small group of people that I filed tax returns. Great tax preparation software and professionals are everywhere, yet tax deductions and credits are often missed. 

Thus, Deductology was born! We set out to help people all over the country with their income tax filings each year. Our main goal? Ask the right questions to maximize tax credits and deductions.
